If you’re in the mood for some authentic Italian cuisine in the heart of Greenwich Village, don’t go any further because Bar Pitti is the best place to have some. A blackboard of twenty or so static specials extends the basic Tuscan menu: assembled antipasti like oil-packed tuna jumbled with cannellini beans, quick-fry pasta, the storied veal meatballs, etc Bar Pitti turns over tables like clockwork. There’s never that long of a wait.
Sienna-painted bare-bones space packed with wooden tables—greatly improved by a mirrored wall, there’s seating inside and out, though, in warmer months, you’ll want to grab a chair on the exceptional sidewalk patio.
The only “downside” of this amazing place is cash only payments.
