Dear Trend lovers, we bring you the brand that has conquered the hearts of A-list celebrities such as Bella Hadid, Dua Lipa, Miley Cyrus, and others. La Manso is the jewelry brand created by a 25 years old Spanish woman Adriana Manso in 2019 and has already become planetary popular (wooow)! For its fun and unique designs, Adriana found inspiration in her grandmother’s jewelry.

My grandmother loved plastic jewels and bijouterie – even if she could afford expensive products, she would never trade her treasures for them. Grandma always looked so elegant and glamorous.

Following in her family’s footsteps, Manso fell into an obsession, collecting ’90s plastic offshoots and making them into the jazzy one-of-a-kind rings – with names like “Thirsty as Fuck”, “Grape Soda” and “Period Knuckle Duster” – that you see today.

I’m able to create what I want, what I see in my mind,” Manso says. “When people ask for help on how to start a business like mine, I always say: ‘Don’t feel stressed, you have an idea – just make it.

With each purchase a pair of latex gloves arrives, encouraging us to wear them even in the tasks of our everyday life, like while washing the dishes. When Love magazine asked her where from did the idea behind a pair of latex gloves came from? she said:

I’m a little bit funny in that I always try to think I’m the first at everything, I’m the Queen, blah blah blah. It’s bullshit I know, but it’s a fun character so we clearly predicted the need for gloves over a year ago! I asked two friends of mine to create a product that you could reuse again and again, and something that would protect the ring, and they came to me with the gloves. My boyfriend has a place where we decided to set up a serigraphy machine. The idea was that we wanted to make these rings for every occasion, bringing extravagance to cleaning the dishes. I really wanted to make something that people hadn’t seen before, and it’s my gift back to people.

Even though she works with plastic materials and has received many negative comments about plastic usage, Adriana claims that it’s not the plastic that is killing our planet, it’s us. When asked “How are you aiming to change our perspective surrounding plastic and its usage?” she simply replied:

It’s like I was saying. I don’t like to take myself too seriously. Fashion isn’t sustainable and there’s a lot of hypocrisy. But I try to be super sustainable within my practice. I run a small business that I try to grow slowly because everything is moving so fast. But the reason I use the phrase ‘plastic is fantastic’ is because it depends on the use, we make with it. Like, I hope people won’t throw my ring into the sea, you know? But people are very hypocritical about plastic. They can afford a ring and defend that it’s plastic, but people ignore the packaging. My plastic rings are 3 buttons of a jacket; the quantity isn’t much. But I did go on a trip around Spain with my boyfriend to find the authentic moulds that the rings were originally used to make because I was convinced they had to exist. My boyfriend thought I was crazy, but I had an address and had to find them. The factory at the address was closed because plastic usage has changed so much since the ‘80s and ‘90s but I found the family, so I produce with them today. The father of the family used to produce the buttons for CHANEL and GUCCI. So they love plastic and they love working with me. Not all plastics are produced in their thousands or made in China. Plastic wasn’t made to destroy the world; who destroyed the world is us. So what I’m trying to say is, we’re responsible. You can recycle these rings by just putting them in a plastic trash can. I mean I hope people don’t, but maybe that would be a funny photoshoot or something?
