Amanjena literally translates as “peaceful paradise” and it is located just outside the ancient city of Marrakech. Set within an oasis of palms and olive trees, Moorish heritage is reflected throughout the pisé-walled resort, including the guest pavilions that radiate out from an ancient basin, echoing the style of a sultan’s palace. Amanjena feels more like an ancient serene palace than a hotel. The location itself is movie-like – it is located seven miles south of the city on the road to Ouarzazate, this makes Amanjena feels slightly in the middle of nowhere lost in place and time.
