Fishnets and Fringes are all over the latest Chanel Cruise 22 Collection – in other words: out with the floral prints and in with the fishnets and fringes. Chanel’s approach is far different from the previous collections and we are in for it. Although the outfits may be daring and loud, Chanel doesn’t lean too far away from their house codes: the classic Chanel tweed, pearls and mini skirts. The collection was inspired by a dear friend of Coco Chanel Jean Cocteau’s play, “Orpheus” which deals with themes of mortality, sacrifice and artistry. This could perhaps be a reason for why the collection does not feature a lot of colors or floral prints and has more a theme of punk and grunge.
We highlighted five of the biggest trends, according to Chanel. Keep scrolling to find out!
All Kind of Fringes
Fringes are so very in this season and as we reported earlier when seen on Fendi runway they’re not going anywhere! We love the fringe trend because it is a simple way to add a layer of excitement to any outfit
Fishnet Stockings
Fishnet stockings, as unusual as it sounds coming from Chanel, seems to be the biggest trend on the rise. Personally I feel like the teenage, Avril Lavigne phase of my life is making the come back and honestly I have the mixed feelings about it, what is your opinion on the matter?
Light Capes
One of the coolest trends this season is definitely the light capes trend! It’s so refreshing and fairytale-like which makes styling it into your everyday summer outfit so much fun! We are officially hopping on the light capes trend train!
Chokers
Chokers are back in trend! Yes, you heard it right the ’90s choker trend is on revival. Skinny or wide, satin or velvet, it makes no difference — the tight necklace style has taken over and shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. This delicate accessory when worn correctly gives an edgy vibe to even the simplest of looks.
Updated Knitwear
Clingy, stretchy, meshy, baggy, or relaxed – this season is all about beautiful knitted pieces! And while the days of loungewear and leggings won’t last forever, spring 2021’s knitwear and ready-to-wear trends offer an easy transition out of it by looking glamorous but still feeling cozy.
