The trend everyone is speaking of is a G-string trend, this controversial trend also known as a whale tail, made its fashion debut at Jean Paul Gaultier’s spring ‘97 runway show. This trend was major back in the early 2000s when icons like Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera put their stringy undergarments fully on display for the world to see. This trend came back in style, designers like Givenchy, LaQuan Smith, and Versace send out everything from dresses to pants with tiny built-in G-strings all over the SS 21 runways.
Beyond the runways, we are already seeing this trend all over Instagram and honestly, feels like it was made for Instagram!
